What’s in my pencil case

Hey, lovelies!

What is up, you guys? So, for this week, I would really love to share with you what is in my pencil case. What I use while taking notes and what I feel is necessary to have while doing so.

I don’t usually carry a huge pencil case, because I cannot be using all of my stationery items while taking notes from the teacher’s explanation. Let’s be real, they dictate notes at 2x speed and we don’t get enough time to think about what is being written in our notebooks. This is why we need to prep before coming to class and just be ready with anything that will come our way.

But, first, I will share with you my stationery items I carry to school! Let’s go!!!

The first thing is a pencil case, so you can carry with you the items.
This is my pencil case.

I love to have a see-through or even as translucent as this so I get to see what I am reaching for. Apart from this, I have a transparent case but I usually use this for my everyday use. I carry a certain color for each item I use, depending on the theme. Today’s theme is light blue and orange.

Within this I have put up several pens and other materials I would need to use, these are:

Brush pens: This brush pen is from Add Gel. I use brush pens for writing titles for every chapter.

Highlighters: This orange highlighter by Faber Castel is used for headings, where I highlight it to make it stand out more. The blue highlighter by Luxor is for me to highlight definitions, and the black marker by Cello is used for adding a lil spice up on the notes – like shadows and all of that.

Sketch Pens: These sketch pens are also used for highlighting different things apart from the above-mentioned. Again, just for a spice-up.

Colored Pens: I have a variety of colored pens by Luxor (big) and Montex(small); these are mostly used for underlining sub-headings or something I would like to remember the next time I check my notes.

Writing Pens: I use black-inked Maxriter pens and my dad’s conference pens. I don’t really know the names or the company that makes my dad’s pens as they are mostly gifts and handouts.

Eraser, Ruler, and Pencil: I use an eraser bought from the local shops; Ruler by Apsara (they are more rigid as compared to others) and the mechanical pencils are from Flair. I have an extra non-mechanical pencil, just in case, I would need it.
A pair of scissors: This is brought from Amazon. This pair of scissors is a very handy and pocket-sized designed favorite.
Staplers: Apart from all this is my stapler. In this side of the world, staplers are a necessity for all since there is yet to be an alternative to clipping papers together.

So this is all I have in my pencil case. If you would like to find out more about this, click here! This will lead you to something more than just a pencil case.

Thank you for being here at this time and reading this. More power to you and see you next time!

Contentment with minimalism

Hi and welcome back!

Phew! That title wanted me to end here, to make this a minimalist blog, but hey, I just can’t seem to let you go. 😏

So, you want to know, if not apply, how minimalists learn to become content with what they own and leave the rest of the world behind them (literally… )?

Here is my version of minimalism:

  1. Less clutter: This is the best part of being a minimalist. You declutter by throwing or giving away so you can have good enough, minimized necessities for yourself. You choose which ones to keep and which ones to throw away, (most minimalists go to the extreme and keep away almost everything and have just one unit of necessity each).
  2. Down-size: I would love to downsize my house, but I first need to own one, lol. Downsizing is something that you build so there is more room to keep your important things (e.g., kids, dogs, spouse, and your furniture). But then somehow, learning that minimalism is a happier lifestyle and pocket-friendly (the money is wisely spent, dude), then you begin to downsize what you have. Now, all I can think of is a house, but there are plenty of things you can downsize (like the number of pair of shoes (ooh, I can think of something else))
  3. Understanding the difference between a necessity and a luxury: Here, you become more aware of things around you and begin to understand why you don’t want to have things as “Mrs. so and so” has. Then will you become content, because you got down to its roots and decipher which is best for you…
  4. More appreciation: This is where I found my sweet spot. You get more free time to appreciate what is around you than worrying about what you want to own more. My life has been so joyful because I am now more appreciative of people and things around me. This is such a blessing and it has kept me sane all this while.
  5. Eco-friendly: Like some genius once said, “Wants are unlimited”, I hereby, would like to want less of everything. Look at how the environment all over the world is suffering just because of what man “thinks he needs”. If we we’re less needy and became content during civilization in the late centuries, we wouldn’t be hurting the Earth as we are now. Therefore, I want less for myself. Less of me, even.

Now that all is said and done, I would like to give you the truth as how it really is:

  1. Sometimes, minimalism makes you feel like you need more because people have more and their lives seem easier. But let me tell you this, the consumerism of people all over the world, be it the rich or the poor, the exploiters or the exploited, have created a culture as such, where want is another factor that man lives by, without which the whole world (including animals and the abiotic) will not survive. Yes, we have ‘wants’, because we know they exist. Like animals would love to have cell phones, if they know, since they will be wherever and still be able to communicate with the fam.
  2. It is not applicable everywhere: Yes, minimalism is great and all but it applies to physical things mostly. We might not be able to apply this elsewhere non-physical, like spiritually or emotionally. We can say we’re being minimalistic when we have fewer friends, no, instead the more the merrier and better. We can’t say I will feel less because I am a minimalist, rather that is something to be used on a daily basis, so we can become better humans in this life.
  3. It is a lifestyle, like the luxurious and the bohemian lifestyles. It’s a want. We “want” to live a minimalist lifestyle, thereby, canceling out the meaning of the word itself. If this was not to be presented as a lifestyle rather as a “runs in my genes” theory, then this would have been a whole different concept. Let me explain. (Getting biblical here) As proved, all humans came to emerge from the first woman, Eve. She must have been a minimalist since she doesn’t have the technology to plow the fields and still lives with animals, thereby, understanding their needs too and all that stuff. So, we could say that could be implemented in schools and taught to growing kids, how to become less needy about everything and be content with what we already own and to think of how other things that they are surrounded by being affected by it.

So that is all I have for you today. Stay tuned in for more!

In the meantime, if you have any thoughts regarding minimalism, do share in the comments below. Even better if you could share, how minimalism has affected your life.

Thanks for being here and being super cute. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰

Transition!

Helllooooo!!! 😊😊

So, this week’s update! (Sounds like I’m reporting to you, lol)

So far, I have been going out of my mind. Literally! Thoughts come in and go out like my mind’s been a hotel for them. I just couldn’t catch up. Lately, I haven’t been thinking straight. Have you met with similar incidences in your life? No? Just me?

OK. I will carry go on then..

I just do not know how to understand myself anymore. So, I tried to find the cause of it. Well, the results took me by surprise.

Would you like to know what I found out? Then go further down and read along πŸ™‚

(ok, sorry for messing around with ya.)

Spoiler alert: Read on and you might find yourself struggling with the same thing. And you can take what I write here, my experiences, and apply it to your life as well, if applicable that is.

(sorry, just inserted “spoiler alert” for extra attention πŸ˜‹)

So, this is actually weird. I would like to bring a change to this society. I want to make a difference. But, I just don’t know where to start. I searched for answers on the internet(I knew I should’ve prayed first πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ), and I found the answers but they were quite confusing. It made me doubt even more about myself. I should just shut up! 😣

I did several tests to find out about my personalities and talked to some friends and acquaintances about them, asking for validation, and just stuffs, okay…

And to my surprise, I was just typing in my browser “Jobs for INFJs” and ten things just popped. Yeah, I am an INFJ, but also a 7, like how? right? Well, I am too young to understand why, so let me skip all that.

I researched how I could be satisfied, with what kinda jobs and what kinda hobbies. And I found out. I actually found my purpose in life. A purpose I once longed for. A purpose that was already living in me and yet after all these tests, did I get to meet such bliss.

I found the love of my life, basically. I found why I feel how I used to feel (or am feeling now), why all of this matters to me when people won’t give a second thought. I found it, you guys! I found my track to trod on. I am on a search of knowing more about the self. Yes, some might think this is just foolishness, cuz why know ourselves, I think we will know with time. But knowing and understanding oneself are totally two different worlds. You don’t just know your strengths and weaknesses but you understand them, understand where to put them to use and where not to. And there are others that might think this is so selfish. If you would do something for yourself, this is the best thing you could do. You could know yourself and teach others to find purpose. You, knowing yourself, could answer better to ” Tell me about yourself” in interviews. I appreciate those who took the time to learn how their selves function and how they vibe. This is why they see personal development as a major impact.

So, with this, I am now shifting to a different platform. (No, I am not leaving you, sweetie!)

I would like to just make use of all this time that is given to me to devote myself to learning things and experimenting with things.

Let me tell you something about myself, before we leave (the post, that is):

My name is Sharon. I am currently 21 years old. I do things extraordinarily. I took a job right after high school (lol) because I thought a Bachelor’s degree was such a waste of time. It truly was, until getting to know myself proved otherwise. I left my job because I felt like my mental health was deeply affected, mainly because I had to tackle my ill father and the work. So I left, without knowing that, after 3 months of his demise, I would recklessly be searching for jobs. But after the journey of getting to understand me, I am now challenged to give my mind a rest and my soul a sanctuary, because the jobs I wanted to have all along were in me. I am able to create the “jobs” and not wait for people to spoon-feed me with their salary. I am independent enough to live in this beautiful, crooked world.

I love to learn and I am currently a History major student, which I took not so I can get a job out of it, but rather get a learning satisfaction from it. And so, if I die, people will look at my kids and say “They had an outstanding mother, like no other” (I know I am dreaming lol, but, shhh…) So I will say this one thing to you: “Success isn’t defined in my vocabulary, so I am trying to define it myself after I retire at the age of 40”

And to commemorate the ending of this post, I would like to share you this!

This is my YouTube video. I am starting this because I feel love when doing it. (Also, to help me motivate to study. You will see more posts based on these now. No more pep talks with Sha 😎)

Hope you’ll be there on my next post. Cuz, this blog is all about my life-journey. A road less travelled. πŸ™‚

What time is it?

Ahhh… You must be wondering what time is for real. Well, that’s a good start off here…

So, have you ever felt something clicking with what you have aspired for soooooo long and said to yourself, “What perfect timing!”? What I am about to help you realize about time now will be what I, personally, see time is.

Time ticks differently for all. For you, time might be a dimension, for others, a healing therapy, and for me, it could be an acquaintance. But judging by the different types of people reading this blog right now, we can just come to a common ground with “time”. YES! We all are given the same amount, regardless of race, color, creed, ethnicity, or fingerprint patterns, even. Time is equally distributed, where each of us is given a choice – how to use it, who to spend it with, why not make it productive, when to take time for ourselves, and so on…

So here are 5 truths I realized about time (which you might have too):

  1. Time waits for no one: Has anybody told you this too? There might have been instances where you were stood up and you had to do things alone. This is one of the examples where people made a choice to spend their precious time somewhere else, which couldn’t wait after their meeting with you. Hence, they stood you up and you are left with nothing but yourself. But do you somehow feel guilty or sad that they left you waiting for their arrival when they didn’t even show up? This is when you realize time waits for no one. The choices you make now determines what your to-do list is listed.
  2. There is no tomorrow: Have you met him – Mr. Tomorrow? Well, that’s because he doesn’t exist. Tomorrow never comes, really. When the day after today comes, it is called today, and not tomorrow. This is also known to be a privilege for me and you to make a choice. How do I use today to its full potential? When do I stop this, what time will I come home? or stuffs like that. Now that you realize that tomorrow is not what it ought to be, think about it! Think about how you’re gonna make a difference (or how you’re gonna make it different) and just begin already! Point 1: Time waits for no one. So, don’t give it a second thought and do what you love now!
  3. A day is not really a day: Another realization: 24 hours is not exactly 24 hours. But how is that even possible? Like I said, time flows differently for others. And why did I use the word flow here, noticed that? Well because time has no shape, like water, therefore we say it flows. But most science-geeks don’t believe in that concept (my made-up concept, lol). I don’t mind them, at all. Time feels like it’s running when we are doing something we love to do, like sleep πŸ˜‹, but it turns into a tortoise when we don’t like what we do, but we have to do it anyway. So, 24 hours doesn’t seem like 24 hours, in fact, it depends on what we are doing for the day, it flows as per what we feel. Time is an illusion, perhaps.
  4. Life is time, and time is life, hence the word “Lifetime”: Haha, that was some weird humor, but wait! It is true. Life is just a timeline of ourselves. We grow really fast under the age of 10 or so, and growth seems to be slowing down when we reach our teenage years, “I want to grow up faster so that I can do …………..” we said. Why is that? Because it is a timeline. We can wait to reach into another sphere of the timeline, thinking it would change for us. Some agreed that it’s fun to grow up, some, eh not so much. But then we will eventually reach the end of the timeline and the flow will stop. All of a sudden you will feel weird that you’ve reached the finish line, but at the same time happy to have achieved this accomplishment of living life. Live life to the fullest and enjoy while you are still in the timeline.
  5. There is a time (and place, but mostly time) for everything: This actually contradicts with the first but, there is a reason for this. This is, like, a rule for us not to chase time, but, instead, let it have us. Let it lead us when it wants us to. You want that job so bad? But you’re just 15? Time here is teaching us patience so that when we have it, we will be more mature and become the best version of ourselves. Hence, chase things when you have an 89% chance of achieving them. But if it requires you to wait, have a wait on it and you will, later on, thank yourself for it.

That is all I have for you today! Thanks for dropping by πŸ˜‰

I hope you have a wonderful time from here on out! 😊😊

Until next time! πŸ™‹πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Break it off!

Hey guys!

I hope your grass is greener still! I haven’t been blogging much lately, mainly because I was just sooooo caught up with chores and running errands all day. I have just got a chill-time so here is me:

You didn’t expect I would just drop a picture, did ya?

Anyways, life has been a roller-coaster ride for the past few weeks. For some reason, I felt productive when I take a break… Do you feel the same way too?

You wanna know what types of breaks to take? I have clubbed a list together for you down here:

Just take a break

  1. If you have studied/ read for 25-40 minutes. A five or ten will do. Studies hve proved that it’s more effective for you to take a break, rather than just do it all at once. You don’t eat food for a month, do you? You eat food for a day or at least for half of a day. Same thing with this.
  2. When you are 1/3 done with your work. For this, don’t take too much break time because it might lead to procrastination. Better if you take a 5 mins or less break. Do something quick, like try to solve an easy-level sudoku within 5 mins. This will boost your brain, even better, na?
  3. After you skipped the first two points and decide to work through whatsoever. Take a break, son! I know you are a workaholic, and you finished the job without taking one. But wait, don’t start another one without a break. You could spare sometime, just some 5-10 mins won’t take you that far. You won’t be late if you don’t start late.
  4. Before you begin. Haha! You say, “But I haven’t started yet!” Well that is the point, take a break: Put on some music | take a deep breath | stretch out first
then do it. Work it off!
  5. Take a break when you don’t have anything to do (like me) and procrastinate! But be productive as well. Else your brain would take you a fool and wouldn’t like to help you out the next time you want to be productive.

Okay so that is all I have for a break.

Next up, we talk about some inspiraaaaa………..

Win, not because of the incentives you get from it, but because if you do, you can help others win too

Acinora

Life is not all about how you look or who you are to your close acquaintances, rather how you help others become a better version of themselves.

Acinora

You don’t have to be better to pride up yourself, rather improve yourself to enhance the skillset of others. That way we can become equal in this world.

7 cold and flu home remedies that your body will love! πŸ’•πŸ’•

Hey there! I have been so inconsistently blogging that I don’t know how to make time for this thing! I sometimes stumble upon a lotta work outside of this digital world that I tend to forget this existed lol.

Anywhooooo!!! I have been so so sick for the past few days and whew I am healed! All thanks to my Carer and the remedies I found in aid of cold and flu. Oooh! Why not share them with ya as well? You might need them if you ever feel sick or if maybe someone you know does and you could recommend them what I share here. Still up to you tho! 😊😊

Hmmm…. but before that… Howdy-do thee? I so wanna know… Has the world been kindlier to you so far? How have you survived the storms and the raging thunders so far. As much as I hope that they won’t come again, I also would like for us to grow… and the storms and thunders act as catalysts for our growth… Just like that, you grow and continue to grow. Could you please be a dear and lemme know what your storms and thunder might be… anonymously if you want 😁 (don’t you think this smiley is a bit creepy? Uh! I am drifting away from the point again πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ)

Okay! Let’s jump in on the “Cold and Flu shoo-hacks”! Sounds so sophisticated lol!

If you are kinda starting to feel sick, like having that nose-nerving smell that’s giving you chills all over your body and give you a hint of what’s gonna come…. Try these out!

  1. Honey: Oh honey! Look who’s here?! Honey is said to have medicinal properties that will help you vanish away those tiny lil’ things that cause flu and/or cold. Just mix this gem with the following ingredients or you could even take one tablespoon of honey and a glass of warm water (warm enough for your throat) and gulp it away!
  2. Ginger: Ginger is my best friend! You mash it, you eat it raw, or you take the juice of it (mix it with water, that is) and its like the best medicine a self-prescribed human could possible have πŸ˜‰
  3. Turmeric: Turmeric could cure your pain away if you have it with pepper and milk. Try it out. I did this when I had tonsillitis as well. Loooooved it!
  4. Garlic: Garlic works well with ginger and honey… If you have that big-seed garlic, it just suffice! If you have the smaller ones maybe a two or three would do.. Mix it with honey and ginger.. ooh! Add some pepper into it as well
  5. Salt: But why not? I included salt here as well since it’s popular and without it you cannot live for long.. But what I am talking about here is GARGLE!! Yep! That old, traditional method even your grandma would love to stress more on this!
  6. Pepper: Pepper? Really? Well, this is a catalyst for almost all of the natural remedies.. Mix this with soup, or with honey, you can also just add lemon and salt with it. It helps!
  7. Hot Liquids: Liquids could be hot water (again, hot enough for your throat, since if you have a high fever, you might not feel the hotness of the water until it reaches your throat), chicken soup (this helps even more if you feel like you lost your taste buds and nothing tastes as good as they should be), and milk (medicinal indeed, but if you are lactose intolerant, you could try out tea or something you could actually drink, 😎 )

Things to avoid

  • Ice cream! Why? Because it might negate the above medications (lol, sounds cool when I call it that) and just gives you more chill! I know you feel so damn hot right now but what do you do when you need to take care of your body this one time so you have to sacrifice something later
  • Wind! Please understand that you cannot be exposed to wind at this time, you will have extra chills and just have to sleep in more. Warm yourself and take good care of that sick body!
  • Screen time! This is the time that you get off social media or just your digitals for a while and get some rest! Your body demands you to close your eyes and just take some much-needed breaks. You could still listen to soft and calming music if you please. This would help you with calming yourself at this time.
  • Stress! No…… stressing! Got bills to pay? Ask for help! Need to deliver this current project right away? Again, ask for help! Just take care at this time and get some damn rest! Your body will thank you for it!

Are you just here reading this and might not need it at a later time? Check out my other blogs here! You will at least love one of them! πŸ˜‰

But I owe you so much for making this fun! I am able to write this even now is because I have you! I write this for you, even if I didn’t get any chance to know you but deep inside there is a connection, something that pushes me to write it to you. I hope a day will come when I get to know you in person and spend both of our times nourishing naturistic beauty and loving life the way it is now!

I hope you had fun reading this.. Don’t forget to comment below if you have anything you want to make it known. Would love to hear what you have to say! 😍

Until next time!

You’re gonna be okay

I have been off blogging for a while lately and I felt like I didn’t really know how to do it anymore. I just got lost in the reality of life and found myself wandering over the things present on this platform.

I just didn’t know what to write anymore or how to write at all. For the past week, there had been happening too many life-changing situations that I just couldn’t be inspired to be here anymore. I wanted to start fresh, to renew whatever there, is to begin with.

This week has especially been a special and memorable one. My dad passed away. Before you go all the way into that, I would like to express my gratuity for you being here and reading this. Thank you for being this anonymous friend here and trying to be empathetic to what I am about to share. I hope you will also be blessed with a similar kind of companionship πŸ™‚

This blog will be about the recent life-changing journey that I have encountered in the previous weeks and how I overcame it all.

It was on the first week of January when he got really sick. I went to see him at the hospital. He was wearing his old comfy tee. Staring into my eyes, he demanded me to come closer. The doctors said he won’t be able to speak as yet. Half of his body couldn’t function any longer. Yes, it was a hypertensive stroke. He murmured something, and I am left in tears for not understanding what he wanted me to do. I phoned my sister, but she was still home, washing herself. Fast forward to tomorrow, we came to know that he suffered from heart disease last stage. The docs said “We can’t do anything for you anymore, I am sorry”

I was deeply depressed, couldn’t perform well at work and couldn’t help home when they needed me to. A week later, I quit my job. I felt like serving two masters at the time and wanted to give up one. But logically, you don’t give up your family; so work it was.

After a week, my dad passed away. At that time my emotions went numb. I was in need of a psychiatrist/therapist or at least someone to counsel me at this very much-needed hour when people say I don’t have a heart cuz I didn’t cry at the funeral. Not that I didn’t, I tried but I just couldn’t feel a bit of emotions through my body.

Now, what do you do when this happens? You talk to your family, right? But there exists members who might not understand you and just talk about it as if it ain’t no biggie. So, I shut down. My mind, heart and body didn’t function anymore. It felt as though I was a walking dead body with a functioning nose and brain (note: I said mind shut down. I presume you know the difference between them)

After two nights of his funeral, I began to feel for his absence. I cried at 3 am, I cried it all out. Not leaving with me a single regretful tear. That was how I regained my feelings and emotions. I began to feel sorry again for dogs whose leg was hurt, and strayed cats. This is how I understood that not all people have the same kind of energy-plant that they could go to and refresh themselves. Some of us also have a cell such as mine that we enter in order for us to become even more equipped with what the world is teaching us. Some of you might have been privileged because you like to drink and I have heard stories that getting drunk does help you forget them all, unlike me, I just couldn’t drink even if I want to. I also just don’t want to forget my problems through a drink, and instead, I want to face it so it teaches me to become more matured. But I might just be judging here.

Do you also have a similar pattern in your life? Lost someone? Someone lost you? How do you relate to this?

Let me know in the comments section below! I want to give you a shout out for overcoming that but would like to know the process of how this has transformed you in a way.. so it helps others who even reads the blog 😊

Have a great time ahead πŸ™‚

A day in the Life

Hola!

So far, it has been a great day indeed. I will narrate to you a day in my life today πŸ™‚ I hope you will like it and find something that could add value to your life as you go on and live it to the full extent!

But, before going there, I would like to appreciate you for being here. Not here, reading this, but for accomplishing so much of your milestones and reaching this point where I just can’t help but feel proud of you! I might not know what you go through, sadness or happiness, pain or joy, but whatsoever that you are going through right now, I am just proud of where you are, what you are doing for the world, your world. πŸ˜„ Keep sky-rocketing this way, and move on to a greater level of greatness!

And, we’re back to the “A day in my life”

I wanted to write something significant about this but I just couldn’t do more than what I already did. It was a day well spent for me. I hope it lights you up as you read through and inspirit you to create your kind of fun.

Diving in at the count of 3…. 2…… 1… and weeeeee!!!

I start my day by going through my planner( I write my plans for the next day before going to bed so that I don’t need to get up early and plan my day)

Then I made some breakfast and did some chores for the day. After completing all of that, I just go for a walk in the neighborhood, listening to my favorite devotional plan.

When I reached home, I just started to meditate and clear my mind out. On doing that, I find out that there is this clutter almost every person might have that would over-occupy our think-tank which would just slow down your creativity and speed of your brain. Doing meditation helps in so many ways. Meditation is a must for you if you feel like you are a busy-bee and you don’t just have time for anything. Try it out today!

After my meditation, I played with my pets for a while and head off to taking a bath and getting myself ready for the day.

I don’t usually like to just take bath and immerse myself in the tub then head out, but what I usually do is I keep these wonderful candles beside me so I can relieve myself from stress. At first, I thought of not buying them, but then a friend recommended them to me cuz, she knows how much stressful my job is.

After taking a soothing bath, I then move out of the house and went to my best friend’s house, and we both went cycling together 😊

We strolled around the city for 3 hours and finally decided to have our lunch at a typical, tiny restaurant in the city center. We then parked the two-wheels beside a golf course and we chilled on it for a while, had some laughs, and cherished some memories.

When dusk almost approached, both of us headed back home to where I find myself spending time with some other friends that came over; had some coffee and some things we conversed for some time. After they left, I just attended a virtual meeting at work and came in to write to you about my day.

I loved today mainly because I get to submerge my soul in the fresh breeze beating against my face while we were cycling through the forest roads, and synchronizing myself with nature while we were on the golf course.

What do you love about your day today? Let me know in the comments below..

Connect more with communication

Bonjour mes amis!

I was just wondering of all of you when I wrote this. How you would be open to chew this in and how many things would have a different meaning if I would say anything wrong here. But I am also full of hope that this will be a big impact on your lives and your loves (work, parenting, applies to all that you love to do, your passion, your desires)

What I want to talk about is something I very much lack it, at first, I thought, “Heck no! I can’t be diving into this headfirst. This is way too hard to accomplish in a lifetime”, but! Looking at the benefits of it, it is very much likely that I stop my thinking for a bit and listen to what it has in store for me and us.

What do you do when you are an introverted person, face gets red when someone breathes your air and gets uncomfortable when you are being spotlighted? Well, I just explained me there! The same is with me as well. I get all comfy to talk with individuals but dang, it cringes when somebody calls out my name in a group to talk about a specific topic. Oh! How the volume would minimize itself until it’s inaudible.

But here we are, talking about goals beyond our comfort zone. Here we are, wanting to make a difference by doing the first thing that would take away heartbeats from us. Why? Because there is nothing in this world that can stop us if we are passionate enough to let others be mutually influenced as we are. Somewhere somehow, you look at that TedTalk and want to be like them too, somewhat somewhen, you see someone you look up to talk about life, and you want to do that as well, but arrghh! This inability to speak our minds out. How do we do that then if we are too comfy in our pajamas, looking from afar the ability of others but aren’t able to do anything about it at the least?

I would like to share about my experience (again, cuz life is too boring to not take up opportunities when given). How some of the tips I will mention below helped me better communicate with strangers and people in general. You can also add in the comments, what your thoughts on these points are, your experience, or even your points to aid future readers as well.

Here are the points noted that helped me overcome this mountain and be free-flowing and smooth as communications should be.

  1. Think of your WHY? Why you react as such. Why your mouth shuts when it is time? Why so on and so forth.

My why was: Why do I shut myself when something is ought to be talked about?
A: Uncomfortable | Nervous | Dislike | Sad | Angry but don’t want to show it | Probed too often

  2. Next up, think about one instance that you could have done better if you had it full on! It can be your an argument with friends or family, it can also be raising your hand in the class when you know the answer.

I thought of an instance where I had an uncomfortable situation with my fiancΓ©e but I didn’t say a word about it. (I know, crazy right? I can’t just open up to ANYONE)
  3. Then after that, try to pretend that you are in the same situation and make use of the following points while doing so:
    • Take a deep breath, and analyze the situation.
    • Buy some time for you to clear your mind and spirit (all of the hate and resentment if you do have😁)
    • Ask for clarification (also part of buying time but then this could also make you more aware of what there is to talk about.
    • Choose what kind of tone you would communicate through
    • Calm yourself. Look away for a while and then come back
  4. After all of this, you will also need to mention the following in the conversation. Here they are:
    • What I know: State to the person what you understand from it and let them know what you think of it.
    • What I do not know: State to the person about what you are not sure of, your doubts and your unclears.
    • How I will find out: (This is why you need to buy some time so you could come back with better composure of words and information) Tell the person the way(s) you will deal with it or that you will research on.

This is how you will make sure that you are at the least communicating well. In some time I will also do a part two on this but I am hanging up until here now.

Let me know if this helps, would love to hear your thoughts on it πŸ™‚

10 steps to self-reflecting

Howdy!

So, last week was a very busy week. Wondering why? (Do check out my previous blogs if you haven’t done so) Well, because there was so much to do in so less time. I had taken a one week “self-reflection time” off from work. Without even knowing, I had three more days left for the self-reflection thingy. I had no idea how time flew past that quick. But luckily, I learnt something from it about my self, some things that I wouldn’t have if I didn’t take a week off from work.

Wanna know how it went? Read on ahead! 😊

I had a hard time figuring out what to do with my time throughout the week but hey, I am young and it’s like a must for me to procrastinate! Actually, that was the first thing on my list. Procrastinate! Haha, weird enough.

This is just from my perspective and what I had learnt last week during my self-reflection time. Not saying that these are the have-to rules for everyone here but, for those of you who really think you have walked past yourself and couldn’t catch up anymore, here’s some ideas for you to self-reflect on:

  1. Take one of your favorite notebook and your pens(Yes! be creative with multicolored pens )
  2. Go to your secret place or somewhere quiet. Do carry your headphones if you are going somewhere quite noisy
  3. Flight-mode your phone. This is important so that you won’t get distracted while you work on your self-reflection. You can still listen to music, even if your phone is on flight-mode. Here is some music to listen to while you reflect.
  4. Open the first page of your notebook, and start writing. Write whatever you feel at the moment, your thoughts, emotions, write up as much as you can. Fill one more page of that and then you read. Read what you wrote and examine yourself whether this is who you are. Through those writings, begin to notice a lovely writer writing a love letter and expressing how much it means to be alive daily.
  5. Ahh! How good it does feel to have written all of the things in your brain-dump page. Now, you move on to the next page and let yourself be pampered with “What am I good at?”. The first impression is the best impression they say, so your first impression of this self-reflection journey can be why I love myself. Write down all of the things you love about yourself. The smell of your hair or socks, it can be as awkward as it is, since I don’t judge me. If you can’t think of anything yet, just try coming up with some points, around 3 to 4 at the least.
  6. Now, you’re done with impressing yourself. You can then start with, what don’t I like about myself/ Things I need improvement on and things like that (remember that the goal is to impress yourself, so don’t write words like “Why I hate myself”, if you did, you wouldn’t even reach the 5th point). Again, it can be the smell of your hair or your socks, not judging (cuz I can’t see πŸ˜‚)
  7. Would you look at that! You have completed half of what it is there for your self-reflection. I am so proud of you (yes, proud of you who read till the 7th point without doing nothing as wellπŸ˜‰) Here can you begin the harder part. Ask yourself the following questions:
    • Where do I see myself in 5 years?
    • What can I do now that will impact my future?
    • How do I change my habits so that my future self will be more lovely and have a good heart?
    • Where do I spend my money?
    • Where do I spend my time?
    • Why am I still doing what I am doing?
    • What is my maturity level?
  8. After that, you can focus on your love life. What you want to do better or what you could do to make it blossom even more. Then go on to your jobs and businesses, think what you could do. This is because you need to focus on yourself first, your self-growth, your self-love, everything that helps you grow and prosper!
  9. Well, I know I said ten steps, but I would like to leave one point for your creative you πŸ€— The last thing you would want to do is close the notebook with your best bookmark or a page-holder, literally; and just look through it at the end of every week. Self-reflection is something that you do regularly. It can’t be done in a day or a week 😏
  10. Here you go! Add on and groooowwww!
